The Challenge:
In exploring creature designs that could help flesh out a fun fantasy world, I concepted several creatures, including this gigantic stone golem, as part of the potential enemies.

The Concept:
I wanted to explore the classic fantasy world concept of a giant stone golem, but with some kind of twist on the idea. My pitch for this was that the golem had been asleep for so long that people forgot it existed, and the forest had grown over it. To top it off, some poor unsuspecting NPC had even built a home on it.
The magical connections that make its limbs stay attached to its body were basically crystal formations that magically kept everything together. So to detach a particular limb, players would have to look at what color the attach point was, then blast it with magic of the same color.
