Cosmic Chase is a VR game for the company Holoride, to be played while riding in a real moving car.
In the VR game they're in a spaceship that's moving at the same speed, direction, etc as the real world car on a private race track, to simulate the in-game space ship movement.

I contributed a lot of concept work for what the player's ship would look like and how it would function, from the outer shape to the cockpit and weapons design. I also worked throughout to keep the feeling of the player ship's tech feel separate and distinct from the alien tech.

My final model sheet for the player ship, featuring the final drawing of the ship, and various views and construction notes about which parts needed to be able to move and animate in the final model.

Some early cockpit design sketches - players needed to be able to see around them as much as possible so they could identify enemy ships approaching from various directions, so I worked to keep as much glass around them as possible to keep their view open

An animated concept I created to explore what it would look like to the player when their shields were hit.

Weapons concept I drew from the player perspective help make sure they could clearly see where they were aiming and give some status lights on the back and sides of the weapons themselves that could be used to telegraph information to players.

Animated concept for what firing the guns looks like and how the lights along the sides and back flash in time with the player firing.
